Our history

SITA UK was established 1988. From its roots as a provider of local authority services, SITA UK has extended its business through a mix of new contracts, joint venture partnerships and acquisitions.

Due to our ability to offer private and public sector customers a fully integrated range of services, we have assumed a prominent position in each of our main business sectors. We have become a fully integrated recycling and resource management company and a provider of a wide range of services to local authorities and businesses.

In July 2008, following the merger between SUEZ and Gaz de France (GDF), SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT became a listed Group on the Brussels and Paris stock exchanges. SITA UK is a significant part of the SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT business, which now - as a waste and water specialist - is fully focused on sustainable development.
