Developing people

Developing people at SITA UK and graduate schemes

SITA UK is committed to ensuring that all employees have the opportunity to develop their skills and careers with us. We have an objective for training, development and learning that states our aim to develop the capabilities of individuals and teams to improve performance and prepare for future challenges.

Line managers throughout the business have a clear responsibility for supporting employee development and for constantly monitoring training and development needs through the annual performance and development discussion, as well as on an ad hoc basis. Such needs are discussed and agreed between the manager and the employee, and they are then addressed in a number of ways including on job training, internally or externally provided training or development events, coaching, mentoring, secondments or professional qualification study.

While the training and development offer needs to remain flexible, SITA UK has, in the past 18 months, developed a ‘core’ training offer which you can download below:

In addition to the core offer, SITA UK also has a wide range of health and safety and transport related training programmes delivered by in house specialist training teams.

Graduate scheme

SITA UK's graduate intake programme for 2011 is planned for commencement in September 2011. This intake will take the format of:

  • Four Sales / Business Development graduates (applications closed)
  • Three Metals Trading graduates (applications closed)
  • Two Engineering graduates

The graduate programme will be based on an 18-month structured development programme of both on-job and off-job training and each role will quickly take on real responsibility within the guise of a project or specific job role. The areas above are critical to the growth of SITA UK and offer great future career opportunities.

If you are interested in applying for the Engineering graduate roles, please take a look at our current opportunities and apply online.
