David Palmer-Jones

Chief Executive Officer

David Palmer-Jones became Chief Executive Officer in October 2008. Prior to rejoining SITA UK in 2006, where he began his career, David spent 12 years working in Europe for both SITA Sweden and SITA France. David has over 20 years’ experience working in the recycling and waste management industry.

Christophe Chapron

Chief Finance Officer

Christophe Chapron was appointed to the Board in February 2007. Christophe joined the Suez Group (now GDF SUEZ) in 1998 and has experience in both the water and waste sectors. Prior to joining the Group, Christophe held positions at Faurecia and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

John Scanlon

Chief Operating Officer – Processing

John Scanlon became Chief Operating Officer for the processing division in November 2009 and was previously COO of the material sourcing division. Prior to this appointment he was Business Development Director and has served on the SITA UK Board since 2003. John has over 20 years’ experience working in the recycling and waste management industry.

Dr Gev Eduljee

External Affairs Director

Gev Eduljee became External Affairs Director in January 2009. Prior to this appointment he was Technical Director and has served on the SITA UK Board since 2001. Gev is also a member of the Government’s Advisory Committee on Hazardous Substances (ACHS).

Graham Mayes

Chief Operating Officer – Material Sourcing

Graham Mayes was appointed to the Board in October 2003. Having joined SITA UK in 1993, Graham held the position of Public Sector Commercial Director until November 2009 when he was appointed Chief Operating Officer for Material Sourcing.

Chief Operating Officer - Logistics

David Foster became Chief Operating Officer for the logistics division in January 2009. Prior to this appointment, he was Operations Director – Municipal and has served on the Board since July 1996. David has over 25 years’ experience of working in the recycling and waste management industry.

Kevan Sproul

Human Resources Director

Kevan Sproul was appointed to the Board in November 2002 as Human Resources Director, following a number of years working within the hospitality and service industry. Kevan’s areas of expertise include employee relations and organisational change.

Jacqui Wheeler

MIS Director

Jacqui Wheeler was appointed to the Board in November 2002. Jacqui has over 25 years’ experience in IT services gained through telecommunications, logistics, manufacturing and health care. Jacqui is also a director on the Board of the SITA Trust.

Stuart Hayward-Higham

Technical Director

Stuart Hayward-Higham was appointed to the Board in March 2009. Stuart joined SITA UK in 1997 after 10 years in environmental consultancy and has extensive knowledge of new and emerging technologies.

Naomi Jones

Head of Communications

Naomi has worked on a range of high profile brands, specialising in brand positioning and corporate communications. Naomi joined SITA UK as Head of Communications in April 2009.

Mark Thompson

Head of Legal

Mark qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and worked in private practice as a commercial lawyer for three years. Mark joined SITA UK in 2002 and was appointed Head of Legal in 2008.

Adrian Clarke

Sales Director

Adrian joined SITA UK in 2005 as Operations Manager in Dorset following a number of years in senior sales and operations roles within the automotive trading sector. In 2010, Adrian was appointed Sales Director.

Paul Gavin

Public Sector Commercial Director

Paul has over 18 years' experience in the waste industry and is a qualified accountant. Paul joined SITA UK in 2001 and was appointed Public Sector Commercial Director in 2010.

Owen Maybank

Head of Customer Insight

Owen joined the SITA UK Management Board in July 2011. Prior to this, he helped transform TNT Express’ thought process behind customer experience and offering as their Head of Business Insight. Owen has extensive experience in understanding and analysing markets and customer requirements.
