Our vision

SITA UK's vision

We want to live in a society where there is no more waste

As a society, there is a need to optimise resources including raw materials and energy.   This is why here at SITA UK we aim to generate the maximum value from our customers’ waste through recycling and energy recovery, helping to reduce the impact of their waste on the environment.

By treating waste as a valuable resource, from which by-products can be recovered as secondary materials or energy, SITA UK hopes to reach a point where the majority of waste materials produced are re-used, recycled or recovered for their energy content.

In order to maximise the value of waste as a resource, we have re-engineered our services as a manufacturing process linked to the value chain of waste. This approach recognises that all waste is a raw material for the products or energy we produce and can be used as part of the manufacture of new products, helping to link the waste industry with the economic activities of the UK to create a circular economy.

We hope that our forward thinking policy proposals will  help to lead the discussion surrounding the future of the waste management industry by anticipating future developments and identifying the policy recommendations and changes that can be made to address these.
