SITA UK cleans up with Bridgend acquisition
SITA UK has expanded its operations in Wales through the purchase of the assets of Bridgend-based waste management company Indigo Environmental Services.
The business provides recycling and waste collection services for industrial and commercial customers across South Wales and complements existing SITA UK operations in Swansea and Withyhedge. All eight former Indigo employees have joined SITA UK.
“This acquisition is evidence of our intention to grow our business in South/South West Wales and provide more businesses with a compliant, reliable and cost effective waste and recycling service”, said Chris Cutler, SITA UK’s General Manager for Logistics in the South West region.
In 2009, SITA UK acquired a depot in Swansea which currently handles around 20,000 tonnes of waste and recycled materials each year. The opportunity to bring these two operations together gives SITA UK a stronger base in the region and will further improve the company’s ability to take advantage of opportunities for new business in the region.
Leaders of industrial and commercial businesses in the area who would like to discuss how SITA UK can help them manage their waste responsibly should call Luke Ellard on 01792 560300.
The company also operates a landfill facility at Withyhedge, near Haverfordwest.
