SITA UK to hold public consultation for a new composting facility at Runfold, near Farnham

SITA UK, will be holding a public exhibition in January at Barfield School, Guildford Road, Runfold, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 1PB, to inform residents about its proposals for a new organic composting facility at its site in Runfold.

The exhibition will be held over two days at Barfield School, which is adjacent to the proposed facility, on Friday 16th January 12noon-8pm and Saturday 17th January 9am-2pm.

Mark Fletcher, Business Integration Manager at SITA UK, said: "The exhibition is part of a pre-planning application consultation to give residents the opportunity to view our proposals, ask questions and provide feedback on the plans. We will do our best to incorporate any additional information in the application as a result of the consultation."

A significant proportion of Surrey’s commercial, industrial and household waste is biodegradable and suitable for composting. Treating this material will reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfill and will produce a useful and valuable product.

SITA UK staff and planning experts will also be on hand during the exhibition to answer questions from the public.
