What is SITA Power?

SITA Power is a functional division of SITA UK, which is responsible for the delivery and management of landfill gas generation projects and other ancillary electrical generation schemes within the group. The division was launched in January 2002 in response to the growing complexity of the renewable electricity market and the need to focus on the delivery of landfill gas generation schemes on sites within the group. SITA Power’s mission statement includes the following commitments:

• To maximise the value of energy recovery from landfill gas.
• To maximise the volumes of landfill gas captured and utilised on sites within the SITA Group.
• To ensure that landfill gas management on generating sites is in accordance with Best Available Technologies to help maintain compliance with all relevant legislation.
• To implement a fast track process to ensure that new generation projects are commissioned as soon as sites are capable of supporting such projects both economically and technically.
• To provide the operating divisions of SITA with appropriate advice and technical assistance on all matters related to landfill gas management.
