At SITA UK, our guiding principles – which we call ‘the four Ps’ as they revolve around people, profile, protection and profit – are consistent with, and indeed reinforce, our commitment to the environment as set out in SITA UK’s environmental policy.
We seek to promote a culture that values the innovation, initiative and personal development of our PEOPLE. Thus we aim to reward good performance at all levels of the company, as part of our strategy to attract, motivate and retain the talented people who can deliver sustainable solutions to the waste challenges our society faces.
We strive to enhance the PROFILE of waste management issues and our industry. SITA UK recognises that we have a major part to play in educating local and business communities about waste, and aims to set the highest standards of ethical behaviour and professional competence.
We demand a commitment from everyone within SITA UK to the PROTECTION of colleagues, the public and the environment in everything we do. One way in which we aim to achieve this is by anticipating environmental regulations and being in the forefront of technological developments.
We also aim to out perform the market both in terms of growth and PROFIT. Our revised business strategy focuses on effective separation of waste as one of the keys to achieving this. We will encourage and support customers to sort their waste at source and adapt processing plants to receive pre-sorted deliveries, thus increasing both the scale and efficiency of our recycling operations. We believe that this is another way in which we can improve both our environmental and financial performance in tandem.
