SITA UK has developed the Management and Administration System for Compost (MASC). This system ensures that SITA UK green compost meets the required quality standards, including the Compost Quality Protocol; BSI PAS 100; APEX and ABPR, and enables the products to be traced from the point of arising through to the end customer.
SITA UK is the first waste management company to roll out a national quality scheme for all composters and use an independent process for analysing and reporting the quality of the finished product.
SITA UK is working closely with WRAP to help deliver improvements to the BSI PAS 100 compost accreditation scheme and is using the scheme as part of its quality systems for meeting the APEX standard.
In addition, all SITA UK composting facilities are accredited to ISO 14001 series for Environmental Management.
